A line from Seven Years by The Cowboy Junkies (borrowed from Gabriel Márquez) has been swirling about the brain recently: "Memories are just dead men making trouble."
The Longfellow "Rain" poem is one I remember well from the children's book of poetry I grew up with. It has a darling illustration- I will show it to you! However, in my book the poem is only two stanzas, which I have always thought was it's entirety. Surprising to learn it is actually much longer!
So happy to have a newsletter from you! Love the things you offer for consideration.
To see another clearly and to truly be seen is refreshment.
Oh, very nice! And I agree thoroughly.
Thank you for reading and responding, Sarah!

So glad you're familiar with it! I didn't know it until my reader friend sent it my way. And it's very long, isn't it? I'd love to see the book.

That Longfellow poem is exquisite, such a wonderful coda to this whole piece. Thank you, and blessings, dear Rebecca
I'm so glad you liked it, JR. It is beautiful, I agree. I'm glad to have made its acquaintance!
